10.1.8 Configure Volumes

 

  1. Extend the System (C:) volume.
    1. Right-click Start and select Disk Management.
    2. Select OK to initialize all of the new disks.
    3. From the top pane, right-click on the System (C:) volume and select Extend Volume.
    4. Select Next to start the wizard.
    5. Make sure Disk 0 614050 MB is highlighted and select Next to use the remaining space on Disk 0.
    6. Select Finish.
  2. Convert disk 1 and 2 to a dynamic disk.
    1. From Disk Management, right-click Disk 1 and select Convert to Dynamic Disk.
    2. Make sure Disk 1 is marked and select Disk 2.
    3. Select OK to convert both disks to dynamic disks.
  3. Create a spanned volume.
    1. From Disk Management, right-click the unallocated space on Disk 1 and select New Spanned Volume.
    2. Select Next.
    3. Under Available, select Disk 2 and then select Add.
    4. Under Selected, select Disk 2.
    5. In the Select the amount of space in MB field, enter 614400 MB to adjust the amount of space used in the new volume.
    6. Select Next.
    7. Using the drive letter drop-down, select drive letter M.
    8. Select Next.
    9. In the Volume label field, type Data and then select Next.
    10. Select Finish.
